Freight

We haul for anybody, not only our own members.

Getting a price

The calculator on the freight page prices a route from its volume and collateral and then shows you the contract window's own fields, in the order the window asks for them, so there is nothing to work out by hand. Paste a cargo list in and it will work the volume out for you, using packaged volumes — the number the contract actually uses, which is not the number the inventory shows for an assembled ship.

What the price is made of

Freight is charged per cubic metre or as a route minimum, whichever is larger, and collateral is charged as a percentage on top. A rush fee buys a 24-hour delivery on the routes that offer one. The quote rounds up to the next million ISK.

Every route has a volume ceiling and a collateral ceiling, and the calculator refuses a haul it cannot carry rather than quoting a price nobody will accept.

Doing it from a spreadsheet

There is a machine-readable endpoint that answers the same numbers, so a spreadsheet or another site can quote without a browser. Ask the route list once and cache it; it changes rarely.

Collateral

Collateral is what we pay you if the cargo does not arrive. Declare it honestly — under-declaring to save the percentage means under-insuring the cargo, and there is nothing we can do about that afterwards.
